Say goodbye to April.
April flew in like a lion. It started with the normal beginning of the month activities as we only get paid once a month. Errands and bills to be paid.
At the end of March, we acquired 7 chickens and 2 passed away. We needed a coop in which the chickens could be safe from predators. They were escaping from the place we were holding them.
So Steve went and bought all the lumber needed to complete the job. He then had our neighbor whose a handyman put up the coop in pole barn fashion. I would have loved to do as a team project bu a little too late for that.
It's just one way the two of us differs. My theory is if a can do it myself I will. Why pay someone else. Steve theory is just the opposite.
Pictures here:
On the 5th Bryan, my son came to visit. He just finished six years in the Army as Black Hak Mechanic and Crew Chief. He was making his journey back to New Hampshire. On the 5th, my sister and her friend traveled here from Daytona Beach.Steve and Bobby cooked the leftover hogged that was shot in May. We also had clams, A colorful salad, and beans.
On the 6th, Bryan traveled to Jacksonville, Florida to visit friends. When he returned we went for a short boat ride, which ended in rain. The one thing Bryan wanted in Florida was to eat alligator tail. So we went to the lighthouse restaurant and order a takeout mail. Bryan and I order appetizers. Thankfully we also order a salad as the servings were slim.
Come the 7th sadly for Steve and I. Bryan left as he had an interview to attend. It was a wonderful visit bu I knew it was going to end. I remember when he was just n infant and one night as I put him into his crib and my thoughts went something like this "I want an independent child. Now he's an independent young man and I am a very proud mom.
On the 9th Steve left for his hunting trip.He only believed tha he was going to be gone for one week, but there were some difficulties and he was gone for 12 days.
Things at the homefront went smoothly for the most part. I handled he business end and Bobby took care of the household end.
I bought a dresser and it helped organize the bedroom so it was much needed.
I bought 3 Rhode Island Reds, 3 Rhode Island Whites and 1 Cochin Bantam. One of the Rode Island Whies was just laying in the coop his eyes were not opening we. So I broke it's neck. I believe all the RIR are hens. One of the RIW is a rooster and the Cochin Chickens is a hen I believe.
Now all that we have to do is wait for eggs, and of course, feed them, give them water and keep their coop clean.
On Steve's arrival home.We had some issues regarding the business. So we are working through them.
Steve and myself are also experiencing some power struggles, I believe this is just another part of relationships. So most likely it will continue until we get out of this stage of our relationship.
